Help
us feed those children in need. The average cost per child
is $7.50 per week. The supplemental food will be provided
to school children at local elementary schools whose homes
are considered to be food insecure. The children who receive
the supplemental food are enrolled in the Free Reduce Lunch
Program and will be given an allotment of food each Friday
to ensure they have food to eat while at home for the weekend.
Currently
we are providing 20 Bag Packs per week. Our Goal for the
2011-2012 school year is to double that (40 Bag Packs
per week). You can donate online by clicking the "Make
a Difference Donate" Button above. Please
indicate that your donation is for the Bag Pack Feeding
Program or you can send a check to:

One
hundred percent of the funds raised will be used to support
this feeding program.

Did you know that the Sharing Center has a Thrift
Store on our premises at 113 Aurora Street, Cocoa? Due to
the location of our property in relation to the highway we are
a “hidden jewel’’ for shoppers. Our thrift
store is a vital part of our operations, providing about one
third of our operating funds. The store is also a program, in
that we give away clothing, household goods, and furniture to
local residents in need. (Last year we provided assistance with
items from the store to clients 16,558 times.)
We
accept donations of almost anything, and we will come
and pick up furniture and appliances anywhere between the Pineda
Causeway and Port St. John.
Since
we are not visible to a high traffic street, our most successful
advertising is word of mouth. We ask visitors to our store
to tell their friends, family and neighbors. We have put
a great deal of effort into improving the store and the display
and pricing of merchandise. We have an inventory tracking system
and we rotate our merchandise and we have weekly sales. We have
over 5,000 square feet of furniture and appliance space, and
we receive new donations 6 days a week.
If
you are a bargain hunter, a collector, an antiques treasure
hunter, or just a browser, you should visit our store. If you
have not been to our store in a while you will be surprised
at the extent of the improvements.
We welcome
your donations. Please call 631-0306 for furniture/ appliance
pick up, or drop clothes and small items of at 113 Aurora St,
Cocoa ( 1 block south of Hwy 520, across from Paradise Ford).
We welcome
comments and questions during your visits to our store. You
can ask for me, and I will also be glad to give you a brief
tour of our facility and explain our programs.
I hope
to see you in our store.
